This is definitely going to be a big case for the future of streaming in theaters. Sounds like Netflix is just the first under the gun because they have the most out there now.

It's fun to read the comments here. Love the implication that a Kevin Smith movie is going to be "PC"

Kevin Smith and his humor is so boring and old and stale and 90's in the worst way possible.

So I went to a small theatre and saw this movie from 1970s called On the Silver Globe and it was the most bewildering, odd movie going experience Ive ever had. Not sure if anyone here has ever heard of it

Netflix cuts off the ending credits, you can usually get the info on IMDb but it still cuts off part of the movie

I know I should read the article, but I'm at work and would love a TL;DR.

Are they basically saying it's disrespectful to cut off the credits? Because of the crew and whatnot?

You can still watch them though, you just have to press a button

It would be cool if you could turn that feature off, but the title of the article is hyperbolic and misleading

Once I finished watching Antichrist on Netflix and immediately as the credits started they brought up Fuller House in their auto play recommendation picture in picture so I support being able to turn that feature off

They don't really give you time to find the button I guess, you don't watch a movie remote in hand

"But there’s one thing we should all be able to agree on: This tweet from Netflix is absolute bullshit:"

    links tweet from Netflix

"To be clear, not every word is bullshit."

This kind of shitty writing pisses me off. So pathetic.

It’s weird that they phrase this whole thing as if it’s literally impossible to watch the credits. The ads and everything are annoying enough without hyperbole behind them. And the skip intro option is great, but that’s a separate issue entirely.

Amazon is even worse about this honestly. If you’re watching a show the auto play cuts it the SECOND the “show” is over and you only have five seconds to click for the credits. It’s really jarring, especially for quality shows. Amazon’s interface is usually the worst though, so I guess that’s not surprising.

Whoops, I missed all the posts in between. I definitely agree that Netflix should allow more customization in general on avoiding that problem and others like the automatic trailers when browsing “feature”.

Jesus, that article is pathetic as a whole. What a minuscule thing to be a crybaby about.

There is no "fumbling around" with your control at all. By the time you are using your control enough to navigate through your player of choice through menus and apps and whatnot, it's literally muscle memory to click on it to stay in the credits instead of viewing an ad.

I'm fine with the idea that you should be able to turn it off, but the author makes it sound like it's torture to push a button. Get over it.

It's really easy at least on PlayStation. You get 15 seconds to press two buttons. It is annoying if you're trying to see something early in the credits though

Or if you accidentally exit the credits and then have to fast forward through the whole movie to get back to them

I’m pretty sure it’s just the back button on Roku, but I haven’t paid much attention lately to it. I know that’s how it is on at least one platform.

I don’t think I have ever had a trailer actually start playing from the credits, only from the home page

Last night I noticed a guy in The Sopranos named FLINT BEVERAGE. He’s been in a bunch of stuff but somehow I never saw that before.

Fun names is how I discovered my fave football player Cortland Finnegan. What team did he play for? Is he still playing? Was he good? Idk but that name makes it all worth it.
