I love him in limited side roles where his schtick doesn't get old, but I can't deal with a whole show of him

Eastbound and Vice Principals right? I loved those.

 

Eastbound is an all timer. I can see how Vice Principals might have been too much of the same, but I still loved it.

 

I am obviously very invested in this saga

 

Wow at them considering him for Return of the Jedi

 

Lucas tried to get Lynch too.

 

If Lynch or Cronenberg or anyone like them had made Return of the Jedi it would have destroyed Star Wars, at least for a while. They probably would have been fired early on, but if somehow they had been allowed to continue Lucas probably would have had to wait a few years and do some sort of reboot that ignores the continuity of their original film.

 

The only way you might be able to get me to watch a Star Wars film now would be if Cronenberg or Lynch directed.

 

That's a cool cast.
