True and judging that it's gonna break box office records in the states and overseas, it just proves thats movies like this r critic proof and while people may have complaints.. I haven't read the proper details yet but it doesn't matter, don't be surprised if Lilo and Stitch 2 gets greenlit asap

 

Maybe you should reassess how you came in then and then you're telling someone they can't have an opinion about why they don't want to see a movie.

How does that not imply she's not allowed to say her piece on the movie that she doesn't want to watch? You can make informed decisions about something without seeing it, especially nowadays. Like it's not that difficult to not be a dick and tell people they're silly because you don't think they have the criteria met to speak on a kid's movie for christ sake.

 

I'm sorry I want better from things that should be good for Asian American representation. I'll shut up now.

I do agree that going to live with your next door neighbor is very different from entering the system

But regardless, that change is absolutely ridiculous and takes away from the core themes of the original movie

 

So the person who complained about the movie actually didn't saw the movie?? whats the point then? At least watch the film first then that person should post their opinion afterwards because maybe the changes makes sense within the context of the film instead of reading the plot on Wikipedia

 

Because she's allowed to say whatever the fuck she wants on here without a mod throwing a hissy fit because he doesn't agree. Y'all can still like the movie. I plan on streaming it eventually. She laid out her issues with the movie and why she doesn't want to watch it. She never reviewed the movie.

 

Why waste 30 bucks to see a movie that takes out the things that you enjoyed about the first film? Movies are expensive these days lol. Thunderbolts cost me $28 for just one ticket

Do you ever decide not to watch a something bc it's getting bad reviews? How is this any different?
Not to mention the added context that I myself am Asian American and this is a remake of a film that was very important to me growing up

I have seen the live action Lilo and Stitch film a few days ago and I enjoyed it, definitely one of the better live action Disney remakes although The Jungle Book and Cinderella r still top tier though!

And that's totally fine and I'm glad people are enjoying it. I hope I do when I watch it. And we might not take the same issues that other people do from it. That's the beauty of it. But someone is allowed to take issue with a movie when their social media is filled with criticisms that bum them out about a movie they cared about. It's as simple as that.

Agreed although heres the surprising thing about the screening I went to, I finished work earlier than normal and I didn't want to go home yet so I thought I go and see Lilo and Stitch and I thought oh it's gonna be quiet, Wednesday afternoon I can relax and chill out... It was fucking packed out screening on Wednesday afternoon and I was like fucking hell I didn't expect this lol!!

the found family theme is still there. Stitch literally says this is my family, I found them. At the end of the movie there’s a photo of an imprint in concrete with all of the characters including the alien and Cobra Bubbles and their neighbor and Nani’s love interest. The *found* *family*

 

For the record and please bookmark this for when I surely say something dumb, I think anyone complaining about a movie they haven’t seen based on TikToks naive and silly
