Yeah baby I’m all for One From the Heart being a 10/10 masterpiece. It’s a fable, an artificial reconstruction of Coppola’s true love coupled with the sorrow of his infidelity - a loveletter and an apology to his wife (who also had an affair). It’s also, on a technical level, the remnants of his dream of Zoetrope Productions and the idea that he could live edit a film (much more on that in the book). It sunk him so much that he never really recovered. I am only midway through the book, in the preproduction stages of this film, but it’s so good that I am getting anxious to read about how bad the fallout is.

The only bad part, truly, is the music. I like Tom Waits, but the music (outside of maybe the last two scenes) stinks.

 

My favorite credits recently were for The Fall Guy showing the behind the scenes from the stunts for the movie was so neat and really sent home the "this movie is a loveletter to stuntmen" sentiment.

taking my son to this next week. I hope the theatre is as wild as this sounds.

 

there were so many 6 years olds in the theater yesterday it looked like a child cult, thankfully I was seeing the Naomi Watts dog movie lol

 

Jack Black, king of video game movies

 

The Minecraft movie has more showtimes at my theater then the recent MCU films.

 

Never played it.

 

Hopefully Kyle Gas is doing ok

 

Apparently people love when a movie is a famous video game plus Jack Black.

 

I liked a lot of things when I was a kid that I cringe at now.

 

Fortnight the movie is going to make a billion dollars

 

I went to see A Minecraft Movie earlier on and it was packed out and people were enjoying the film big time and gave it a standing ovation when it finished.. no joke!! and I knew oh this is gonna make a shit ton of money!

As for the trailers they shown before the movie started.. Lilo and Stitch got the biggest laughs and cheers and Karate Kid Legends got the oh crap we need to see this type of reaction.. no one else cared about the other trailers.. not even Superman!

maybe video game movies will go on to be almost as big as superhero movies were some years ago

 

I feel like I'm still part of the age range that was hit hard by Minecraft, but I still have no idea what it is. Same with Roblox. I only have a vague idea of both so they remain big blind spots.
