I clearly stated I started west side story and wasn’t in the mood for a musical and just never came back to it. I’ll watch it at some point.

 

Outside of Lincoln and Bridge of Spies, Spielberg had a pretty forgettable run from 2008 - 2020

Top 5 are pretty much set in stone. 21 and below I fully don’t like.

Have not seen: The Color Purple, The Twlight Zone Movie, Empire of the Sun, Always, Hook, Amistad, War Horse, The BFG, The Post

 

Y’all are too hard on War of the Worlds.

I liked War of the Worlds a decent amount when I watched it a few months back or sometime in the last year but it's a lesser Spielberg for sure

 

I like war of the worlds.

 

saw it in theaters back in the day. have fond memories of it. not Spielberg's best, but a pretty fun time.

 

I like War of the Worlds. It’s one of his bleakest, or his version of bleak. Maybe acerbic is a better word.

 

I like it up to the Tim Robbins part then it kind of loses the plot. Still, amazing special effects and that first 90 minutes or so is incredible.

 

the Amy Ryan and Lisa Ann Walter cameos are also fun to see now after seeing them in other projects

A lot of these are tough to compare to be honest, it’s a bit of a “what would I throw on to watch right now” list
