it’s pattinson to me. harris dickinson is doing a good job choosing too, though not necessarily the biggest name directors

Adam Driver is a strong contender but he made something called 65 a few years ago.

he still picks good director names but they often end up being among the most divisive of those directors' work. megalopolis, ferrari, white noise, house of gucci and the last duel, and even going back to the dead don't die

I haven’t seen Ferrari but I like all the rest of those from at least a little bit to a ton

i mean, i like a few of them too. I'm not saying they're garbage. i think divisive is a fair descriptor of each of them though.

It is, I still think both in terms of quality of films/performances and the names he’s working with he’s about as good as an actor gets right now.

Driver is probably the best choice. Broke free of the Star Wars stuff to work for (and do good work with) the best living directors.

It's funny how many people on Twitter are mad that they didn't get Adam Driver to play Snape in the new Harry Potter show.

In Michelle Williams’ defense, she did say that the Venom movies were a financial decision.

I do think Nicole Kidman is in a really interesting run right now. Maybe Glen Powell too?

The best defense of Michelle Williams being in those two Venom movies is that it’s very funny that she’s there.

Love a prestigious actor like that playing the “straight man” to Tom Hardy’s shenanigans, with a confusion and frustration that’s probably more sincere than acting but that befits the character all the same.

Also, it’s very funny that she briefly became a She-Venom. Everyone would get a chance to be a She-Venom for a few minutes as warm up for playing Mama Spielberg.

my sister called me about this last night because she wanted to see it with her conservative mother-in-law and she doesn't want to go because of Rachel's "controversy"

In defense of Chalamet, people love those Paddington movies and I think the director is part of the reason for their success. Wonka was apparently better than it had any right being too. I have seen zero of his work, but I think he has a good reputation for elevating what could easily be mindless family films.

I think it’s funny that he made a big deal about never doing superhero movies and then signed on for something like Wonka
