I really love the Snoopy idle screens that come up on Apple TV when you’re not watching anything for awhile. Feels very screensaver-y in a nice way.

 

I really try to get as late as possible to movie theaters now so I miss most of that stuff. When I was a kid my mother would have us at the theater a half hour before showtime and the loop can't be more than 7-10 minutes.

Does Leonardo DiCaprio have the best taste in directors of all modern actors? Joaquin Phoenix made two Joker movies, Michelle Williams does those Venom movies, and Chalamet did Wonka. He has been in some bad movies, especially Don't Look Up, but the director is always someone with some success in the past.

 

Could probably make a case for Pattinson post-Twilight, but he still has more duds than DiCaprio.

 

Is Tom Cruise modern

 

Yes, but all he has done is Mission Impossible and Top Gun for almost a decade. DiCaprio has Tarantino, Scorsese, and this year Paul Thomas Anderson.

It's a shorter list of who he hasn't worked with. Maybe he will do a Coen brothers or Wes Anderson one day.

 

I would have said Pattinson until he went back to the franchise well. Similarly Kristen Stewart is close but then she does stuff like the Charlie's Angels reboot.

 

Adam Driver, Kristen Stewart, and Pattinson are probably the best. If you separate Adam Sandler’s “serious” roles, he’s got a really good batting average. I’m curious to see Ayo Edibiri’s next few years. A few years ago I might have said Ryan Gosling, but he might’ve started to tank his record in recent years and I think it’s gonna get worse.
