I'd've been down for an eco-conscious space fantasy trilogy, deconstructing what was once a saga so focused on the individual and hereditary "uniqueness" to end up being about a communal biology enveloping all people.

That said, George Lucas's last three movies were quite bad and boring so I'm not sure how good new movies would have been, and I liked the Last Jedi so I'm more or less fine with things.

Matthew Vaughn Planning 'Kick-Ass' Reboot, 'Kingsman' Universe

This was posted about a week ago, but I'm curious as to what everyone else thinks. I pretty much don't want any of this. I'm in the minority of those who liked Kingsman 2, but a prequel, a Statesman spinoff, AND a miniseries? That's doing the most right there. And who was crying out for a reboot of Kick-Ass? Feels like Matthew Vaughn is pissing all his potential away on all this Mark Millar bullshit (even though the first Kingsman is his best film)

  11. Finished S1 of Veep and I just want to keep going right away (I won't, though). This is how I wish I'd felt after finishing S1 of The Sopranos.

I think I'm going to do either True Detective or Big Little Lies next--finish both eventually since they're relatively short.

Apparently Fahrenheit 451 wasn't good? I forgot it was even out.

To be fair a good critic takes "who it's geared for" all the time. I'm sure a 40 yo white dude isn't all about snow white but can still find the merits in it as a cartoon for children.

Like, in one sense, sure. But people like to fucking talk about movies.

Also a wrinkle in time was kind of terrible.

Edit: idk what I was trying to argue here. We need more diverse film Critics hired to major posts. Maybe I’m just saying we need as many people writing about movies as possible?

I refuse to believe the Travolta as Gotti biopic directed by E from Entourage and scored by Pitbull is a real movie

A Wrinkle In Time wasn't great but it wasn't as bad as the reviews said it was

I don’t think it was terrible. It had pacing issues but I found some of the messaging and semiotics in the climax very affecting and meaningful, particularly for what they said about black girlhood.

Part of me is tempted to see Gotti just to see how bad it is.
