Honestly I thought all high school reunions were held in the high school gym until the FB group for my 10 year reunion said they were doing it at a BBQ restaurant.

same. there was a picture of me “working” at a local restaurant just cause they needed extra pictures. I didn’t actually work there.

Yeah my friend who I went to shows with (who now works for concert marketing for Livenation) worked on the yearbook so my punk/emo kid friend group was all in that shit.

My brother was dying during my senior year. I had my photo taken in the summer before, so I am in the yearbook. But I skipped so much school to go see my brother that I didn’t get to do any of the quotes or what not. I also missed the one club photo I should have been in. Oh well.

I wish more people would embrace and go to their HS reunions but I also understand that I'm an outlier there as I work in a HS so I am still involved in the "community" that a high school is that not a lot of people really remember when they're years and years out of it.

I also get some people just had horrid high school experiences with bullying or what not. But also people do grow up and change and you might see some people you forgot about and realize like oh yeah that person they weren't one of the jerks and etc.

I'm in all my yearbooks, and I still have all of them but I can't for the life of me find my senior year yearbook which makes me sad. I played football so I was in there a couple of times throughout the 4 years for that as well. I still have my middle school yearbooks and one or two elementary ones too lol.

I went to my prom, my ex-g/fs junior prom, but we broke up the next year before she had her senior prom. I did go to a friends prom that year with one of her friends who needed a date.

I always thought it was held at the school too but they would never approve anything like that on campus grounds with alcohol.

I was not excited to go to my 20th, but my friend really wanted to and he said he'd pay for the room and my flight to Vegas was only like $100. I thought we'd meet up, hate it, and leave to go gamble. We ended up having a great time and everyone was really nice and excited to see everyone else, even if they weren't really friends in high school. I was happy I went after all.

Yeah I think this is generally the experience. I think people just get excited to see people that they knew when they were young and they can take a trip down nostalgia lane with them. Even if they weren't friends and had nothing in common, they still had the school and teachers they had in common and such. Like oh finally someone else I can laugh about how funny Mr. Smith was in English or etc.

There’s like 2 or 3 people from high school that I haven’t seen since then that I’d be genuinely interested in seeing but don’t think they’d go to a reunion. One dude seemingly fell off the face of the earth and has the most generic name so he’s impossible to try and find.

Approaching my 20 year high school reunion - I have zero desire to go. I've kept in touch with a few friends and I don't really get what the point / format is either. I didn't go to a 5 / 10 / 15 year so it seems on paper like it'd just be cramming in 20 years of 'here's what I've been up to' from people that if I really cared about, I'd already know a little of that? Also like what if you go, and someone talks your ear off because they remember you fondly and want to fill you in, and you're like okay.. but I want to know what that guys been up to? Oh... the events over, okay cool.

There are some people I do miss, but if I don't know what they're up to, it means they don't have social media, so how would I know they're going to be there, or how would they even know it's happening? Idk. I feel like I've keep in touch with the core people and I don't really see the appeal in just seeing people to see them because we all went to the same building for 4 years.

    hate my favorite band

Most of the reunions in my area (South Jersey) have their reunions down the shore at a bar and they usually come with a stupid pun for the name of it. I’ve had no interest in seeing those people again, so I don’t actually know if my class ever did ours. None of my friends went if they did. Lol

My group of friends from high school has stayed in touch and meet up on occasion. I’m not sure if there is anyone from high school that I haven’t stayed in touch with that I feel a desire to see again. But I wouldn’t be against going just to see. I’m just not convinced the 20 year is gonna actually happen. My friends don’t really seem to want to go if it happens. I think it’d be fun if we went as a group. We shall see.

We never had proms back in England when I was in school, kept, lost and reconnected with some people I knew over the years.. under sad circumstances like funerals and not high school reunions

I wasn’t invited to my 10 year. I’m sure some folks have changed, but not enough to get me to go. You’d have to pay me to show up and there would definitely need to be a comma in the number

  25. I make my friends and I yummy special grilled cheese sandwiches that I called "Cheese-us Christs" because when you eat it, it makes us all say "Jesus Christ!" since they're so good.
