I drove over an hour in the rain and rush hour traffic to see Hard Truths because it looked like it wasn't expanding much and then this morning I see it listed for the theater next to my job for Friday. I hate the guessing game with limited releases.

 

I generally don’t care about GLAAD, but I’m certainly glad Emilia Pérez got “snubbed.”

Some fun inclusions in the comic section, too. Really want that Avengers Academy series by Anthony Oliviera to get a print version.

I think that’s how most people use the word. But the definition of the word doesn’t have the aspect of it deserving, just that it was ignored basically.

 

in this case, the movie has been nominated, and has won, numerous awards from most major award shows, so giving it zero is indeed a snub

 

Snubbed implies a level of reasonable expectation. You wouldn't say that Madame Web was a Best Picture snub.

 

Is there something I’m missing about Wicked that would get it a film nomination there? Also interesting that Heartstopper is under Kids & Family Programming. Also also what happens in Ricky Stanicky that made it eligible here because I did not last more than about 15 minutes with that one

This is specifically GLAAD tho, one would think they'd have different criteria from "most major awards shows"

 

I imagine because Cynthia and Bowen are both queer, I think Hunter is bi in Cuckoo but it's not really a big part of the story so I imagine it's hiring LGBTQ actors as well

 

Not really sure how I feel about that but fair enough I guess. Just do categories for best openly queer lead, support, so on and so forth
