Interesting, despite the director not having a great history, sounds like the original Hellboy creator actually thinks the new movie is the most faithful adaptation of any of the comics

 

I have a feeling being a co-writer on the new movie might play a part in what he says about the movie.

 

Isn't that a good thing when it's the creator of the comic book that is being adapted? He wouldn't want to greenlight stuff that goes against the original story that he created

 

It could be hopefully, but what else is he going to say about it being faithful? Especially when he’s directly involved in the writing this time.

Idk from what I’ve seen the movie looks like shit and it wouldn’t be the first time a creator hyped up a bad movie. James Cameron does it with every Terminator movie. Lol

I’d be happy to be wrong because I actually love Hellboy. I was really bummed that the most recent game wasn’t good either. But the new movie has looked rough from the start and just feels like it was all forced just to throw another movie out there. I’ll be watching when it hits digital regardless though. Lol

 

Today the school district banned a manga book because the chairwoman thought the book was too confusing because it was written backwards. Even after someone tried to explain that it was meant to be read right to left the ban still passed.

It was originally challenged by a parent because of a gay relationship, but even with our far-right Governor that is not enough alone to ban a book.

 

That’s just wild and I can most likely assume it’ll probably happen more now. I think the boys love and girls love genres of manga/anime are really popular with younger generations on top of getting increasingly popular in general.

Just give the kids Berserk instead.

 

They have actually had to pull back on the book bans a little bit because once a book is challenged it has to be read by a committee and the backlog is going to take years so people figured out they can just challenge The Bible or anything right-wing and that made them mad.

But manga seems really important to a segment of my students and I am glad they are reading something. I have ten minutes of independent reading every day in my class and today a student told me they just pick up a different book each day and read random pages.
