I more meant playing hardball about walking. I feel like he’d get by just fine without the show.

If he's looking to take over for Lorne, and who knows if he is or not, that probably would be a bad call.

Huh, have there been rumors that he is looking to take the job??

Just Twitter gossip that's no different than Tina Fey being rumored for the job. Late Night is contracted going through 2028, so that wouldn't really make sense, but who knows.

I respect the shit out of DanRad not pretending to be something he’s not and just wanting to make fun, entertaining stuff. There was an interview a few years back about how he’s never seen Citizen Kane or Casablanca but he can break down all the Sharknado movies for anyone who asks. Seems like a solid dude

I tried watching a movie with commentary once and I didn't make it 15 minutes. It really takes away from the film.

I used to consistently watch a movie and then watch it again with commentary. I stopped at some point and have never gone back to it/I don’t even check to see if it exists for a movie.

Its weird commentary tracks havent found a place in the content economy. Corps continue to dogmaticly shut down anyuse there IP even when it is effectively free promotion. The Always Sunny podcast is a good example of how easy it is to adapt the format succesfully when you have the rights.

“Shout”? Idk, I’d prefer if the commentaries were done at a normal speaking volume.

I'm sure it holds up poorly but I remember watching Anchorman with a commentary track where the cast is watching it while drunk

It’s being recommended that you don’t watch the trailer, but sharing so people know about it, along with the cool fact that Giovanni Ribisi was the cinematographer

The video compares the Best Picture winner of each year to the highest rated film on Letterboxd from that same year. To little surprise, the Letterboxd film is usually better (although somehow in 2010 the highest rated film is worse than The King's Speech), but there are a few times the highest rated film did win, even recently with things like Parasite and Everything Everywhere All At Once. It definitely leans on foreign films more than an American awards show ever would, but even with American picks there is often something noticeably better.
