I don't care how much snow we're getting here in Chicago (projected 8-12 inches at this time). I will be at this show when doors open, dammit.
Airfield live had me tearing up. A lot of this album, maybe just vocally, reminds me of Everything Everything.
Undercover Agents is a song that brings me so much joy. This album is a great soundtrack to the first warm day in forever.
I'd rate the albums in this order personally (I know mine probably differes from most people): A Flash Flood of Colour>The Mindsweep>The Spark>>Take To The Skies>Common Dreads The Spark took ages for me to get into but now I have I love it. Seeing them live the other month really helped make the album click with me too. I find the last 3 albums so much better than their early material (which I think has some great songs scattered through them but neither album is consistent for me).
A Flash Flood of Colour > The Spark > Common Dreads > The Mindsweep > Take to the Skies. Take to the Skies is defo their worst album, super uneven and some genuinely dire songs. All the re-recorded songs on that album were better in demo form. Adieu nearly makes up for it though...
Take To The Skies is not bad at all.....it's just far behind everything that came after... also don't forget how awesome Rat Race EP is
I never clicked with AFFOC like others did, songs like Snakepit are just bad. And I have lots of nostalgia for their first two albums and seeing them in tiny venues here in the UK.
