ok so I pressed play because I like the cover I thought this was metalcore band what the fuck I am listening to
Uhh yeah, if you don't follow the band this is pretty left field haha. What did you think of the album?
jeez sorry for the horrible grammar up there haha I was ready to fucking hate it the cheese the british accent and terrible lyrics the cheese but I kind of enjoyed it and am now intrigued - I'll definitely listen to it again - it is catchy as fuck although there were like three songs that were just too cringey for me I mean, it's somewhat bold and fresh sounding and that's coming from someone that doesn't even know a single song of theirs before this - what I mean is it's bold even out of context of their discog I think haha crazy - who would have thought
Yeah the thing about the cheese really faded away after my 3rd or so listen...they very honest and real, even if they are relatively clunky
I want to live inside the groove of the opening of Shinrin-yoku forever I really can't wait til they sing it live...I can imagine the groove just beginning, Rou just standing over the crowd, giving a monologue about unity, happiness, progress, etc. and then just diving into the song. ugh Probably my favorite bass groove of the year too

January/February 2018
I am absolutely in love with this record. I wish more people were talking about this! Enter Shikari officially became my 13th band with 200+ listens now on last.fm as well
Listening to a Flash Flood Of Colour for the first time in quite some time. Still such an incredible record. Their Flash-Mindsweep-Spark stretch is absolutely astonishing.
Absolutely agree. It blows my mind that people still hold on to the belief that TTTS is their best album...it's incredibly dated and does not have an ounce of the poise or impact that songs in the later album have. My biggest gripe with Flash is Sssssnakepit. The "yeah-yeah-yeah we're nice guys" breakdown always takes me out of the experience. One of the worst things they've done haha
I don't think I've listened to TTTTS since Mindsweep came out. It's extremely outdated and they're so much better now. I'd be totally fine with them abandoning that album completely live going forward
I really hope so. There are some songs on CD that I'm sure would sound great if they updated them a bit, but structually and musically the songs from TTTS seem so....bare? Common Dreads has enough of solid basis to update them a bit. Seriously though, a setlist comprising of only AFFOC, The Mindsweep and The Spark would be absolutely crazy! So many downright bangers and great songs that they would even impress people who aren't huge fans or never heard of them. Like, imagine this setlist: AFFOC Songs: Meltdown Warm Smiles Constellations Gandhi Hello Tyrannosaurus EP: Radiate The Mindsweep: Ananesthesist Bank of England The One True Colour Torn Apart or Myopia There's a Price on Your Head REDSHIFT The Spark: The Sights Rabble Rouser Shinrin-yoku into Undercover Agents Live Outside An Ode to Jigsaw Pieces
I can't make it through Common Dreads. That's the only dud of an album by them for me, minus Solidarity and zzzzonked off it. As mentioned before, Flash-Mindsweep-Spark are them at their peak. Never been more motivated in my life to save the world until I heard those.
The government is bullshit! We're all being poisoned literally and figuratively. We need to band together as one, through love and be there for each other!
For me, it's the "Woah chill out, remember Gandhi mate" bit in "Gandhi mate". Hate it everytime it comes up. Shame because the rest of the song is a ripper. There's something quite endearing about their few embarassing shit moments (or any bit when Rou does a put on posh accent). Gives their missteps a little bit of charm.
Yeah the fact that Gandhi was actually very racist and predatory has really not allowed that song to age well.
I think that stands as their most subversive heavy part ever...it's heavy as fuck but in a different, chaotic way. I don't think it got called out enough yet as impressive
Also I must say it's been great to watch Rob's growth as a drummer. His "solo" in Shinrin-yoku stands as one of the more impressive things I've heard all year
