Have a feeling we're a couple weeks away from a new era. They archived the vast majority of their Instagram page and are being cryptic on their discord server. Curious to hear what direction they've taken this time
hell yeah, i really, really could use some good new shikari these days man do hope it is at least more interesting than this, which unfortunately still doesnt do a lot for me
There's only a couple of songs on this that I like. I went through and watched a bunch of their music videos and overall their whole discography hits pretty well. This was just really uninspired. I want the craziness back for the next album. Give me some Slipshod
It has its moments but it’s easily my least favorite album and I hope there’ll be more meat on the bones this time. I feel like they shot themselves in the foot by dropping "The Void Stares Back" as a standalone single, it sets my expectations high but nothing on the album lived up to it.
i understand their intent here in that they wanted to synthesize everything theyd ever done all together and basically make every song a bite sized dose of all things shikari but them taking the time for all their new ideas to breathe is what makes the rest of their discog so special so yeah, swing and a miss imo
Interesting. 'The Void Stares Back' might be one of my least favourite songs by them, and I almost always skip it if it pops on randomly.
The Void Stares Back is definitely up there with their best for me. Very excited to see what they do this time.
Everything archived and blacked out on their socials now. Wonder if a teaser/announcement is coming on Monday or maybe later today?
If I had to pick three songs off AKFTWW they would probably be pls set me on fire, Leap Into The Lightning and Dead Wood I almost want to say Goldfish just for the end even though it's a ridiculous song haha
A kiss for the whole world is a wonderful song too, probably my favorite song from this on a live set
TTTS: Labyrinth Sorry You're Not Johnny Sniper CD: Zzzonked Anterwerpen The Jester AFFOC: Meltdown Arguing With Thermometers Gandhi Mate, Gandhi Mindsweep: The Last Garrison Torn Apart The Bank of England The Spark: Live Outside Shinrin-Yoku Revolt of the Atoms NITAEIP: Crossing The Rubicon Dreamer's Hotel Satellites AKFTWW: A Kiss Dead Wood Goldfish (I changed up mine on the latest because I forgot how much the title track grew on me, I hated it when it came out. And as much as I like Leap into the Lightning I think the end of Goldfish with the screams just hits so well)
Yeah, I'm super glad that Cody Frost got to do a song with Enter Shikari since she's loved them and done covers since well before she ever hit any sort of success but there's just something about it that does do it for me. Oh, and I really disliked the Hole song too.
Bloodshot A Kiss for the Whole World x (pls) set me on fire are probably my three favourites from here
dead wood, leap into the lightning, and pls set me on fire are my only takeaways but i do really like those three songs. dead wood doesnt really count though since they were working on that for nit&eip originally (which tbh explains why its such a level up from the others for me haha) and yeah the jason butler song is really fucking bad lmao
I didn't listen to this album as much as most of their others but I remember actually liking it a fair amount, I'd definitely put it over The Spark at least. That one remains my least favorite from them.
