They've played it at quite a few shows this year.

Been watching Audiotree since the beginning basically with it being a Chicago product. So stoked to see this. I can't be mad I guess then they didn't do any Riot Fest aftershows ha

I've listened to Nothing is True & Everything is Possible a couple of times now, and this one just isn't clicking with me at all. It's I like the opener and The King and satellites is alright, but I struggled through the second listen.

Hmm, interesting. I think it's one of their best, but it is different so I can see why you might not like it.

Agreed, NIT&EIP is my favourite followed by AFFOC. I don't think I'll ever get tired of hearing 'T.I.N.A.'.

I'll write you into all of my songs Supporter

TINA is one of their best songs, as is satellites

the rest of the album is a lower tier record from them

TINA is so sick. Most of that album is great. I'd probably put it third after Common Dreads and Flash Flood.

Yeah NITAEIP is arguably top tier Shikari for me with Common Dreads and Mindsweep. So much diversity throughout

It's not so much the different sound that's not clicking with me, I appreciate that they've switched things up. I just don't find the songwriting as strong. Songs like Crossing The Rubicon, The Dreamers Hotel, and modering living.../apocaholics anonymous are some of their weakest songs. All three (four) have elements I like, but lyrically they feel a little half-baked.

I'll give this one time like the others though. I will add T.I.N.A. to the list of good songs too, that one is very good.

  10. Crossing the Rubicon and The Dreamer's Hotel are some of my favorite songs they have ever written, full stop.

People liking Tina as much as they do always surprises me and this weird ass music video drags it down for me.

I don't like that song much at all.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

TINA bangs but satellites takes the prize money. best song they've ever done imo

That video is sick. Watching that high as balls honestly elevated the song for me.

The video for T.I.N.A is very weird, but I think that's why I love it so much.

So despite really not liking NIR&EIP on my first two listens, I gave it another shot this week and I have to say I must have been in a bad mood because it is actually really good. The only song I still don't like it Crossing The Rubicon, but man was I wrong on The Dreamer's Hotel and modern living... Both are absolute bangers. I still find some of the lyrics to be a bit too cute or corny at times but with melodies like these I can't help but dance and sing along. The prime example being "WE'RE APOCAHOLICS, DRINKING GIN AND TONICS". I don't love the lyric, but damn if the delivery doesn't kill it.

It's definitely above The Spark for me, maybe even The Mindsweeper.

Hell yeah, love to hear this.

I feel the exact same way about "We're apocaholics, drinking gin and tonics"

Something I'm getting used to it that there's a great deal of Rou's lyrics that are cringey haha, but that's become part of the charm

I still love this lyric from Gandhi Mate, Gandhi

    "Awhhhh,
Yabba dabba do one son, we don't want you rules
Who you fooling son, we've got all the tools"

Yea I love that line but it is definitely a goofy ass lyric. I suppose for me, the goofier lyrics were easier to swallow right away with the more aggressive vocals, but on The Spark and NIR&EIP his delivery is usually clean so they take a little more getting used to.

    That's absolutely true.

"Yeah yeah, we're nice guys. *growling scream* UNTIL WE'RE NOT!!!"

"*very clean* you are a goldfish, I am the bowl. You're swimming in circles, I am eternal"

This is probably the lyric I think is the corniest and weakest perhaps in their whole catalogue. Not sure how it got through to the final recording, but I can easily overlook it.

I think that lyric is horrible, but funny. I think the lyric that's worse is earlier in the song:

"What's the one thing that has
    More speed,
    More strength,
    And goes deeper than us?
    A Nuclear Submarine."

    I can't stand that lyric.

These are all great lyrics. That kind of humour is an important part of why they're so fun for me.
