it's Ode guys. their best song and it's not close. I fuck with the whole album though, shinrin-yoku is top-tier also
Constellations would probably still be my pick for best Shikari song. Shinrin-Yoku is the one Spark song I really like but even that doesn't really come close to their best songs for me.
I've always found Constellations so, so insanely cheesy but I'm glad other people like it. AFFOC is a massively mixed bag for me
That's funny because Ode to me feels like a much worse version of Constellations lol. The bag for life line is one of his worst.
It’s amazing live lol so thankful I got to see many of the spark songs since it feels like they won’t be doing them much going doeard
Constellations is definitely a little cheesy, but I like it overall. From what I’ve listen to so far, Stalemate is my clear favorite song from them.
Finished my first listen of The Mindsweep. It's overall solid, my first impression is that it's not nearly as good as AFFOC. I'll give it another listen today though.
I really disliked Minesweep my first couple listens. Never Let Go Of The Microscope and especially Myopia really irked me for some reason, but I love The Bank of England and The Last Garrison. I need to give it another shot because it's still really low on my list.
The Appeal & The Mindsweep, The Last Garrison, and Torn Apart are the standouts for me. I agree on Myopia, that one is low on my list of their songs right off the bat.
The Appeal and The Mindsweep I totally glossed over when listening to it for some reason, I don't know how, but then I saw a live video of them where they opened with it and I was like, what the fuck this is so so good.
After this album, I kinda want them to go back to making longer tunes that go beyond the chorus - verse - chorus structure and feel like journeys. I feel like they went hard on that approach on The Mindsweep and it's a big reason I love it this much.
Bank of England is in their absolute top tier for me. also find the hook to One True Colour constantly plays in my head
somedays The Mindsweep is their best album for me. But it ranges. The mix and master do suffer a bit on AFFOC, The Mindsweep, and The Spark.
The One True Colour may be their best song. Such a powerful message behind it too and it chokes me up.
That's so funny because I really dislike most of that song, but I'll check the lyrics. Music is crazy, yo.
Bank of England is a fucking slow burn killer. Better than nearly all stuff on their most recent album.
