Embark, Embrace is so good, high hopes for this. Wish they'd do a short run in the states before they're gone, though.
Track Premiere: Enemies - "Glow"
Sad and awesome news at the same time. I was so happy to catch them in Chicago last spring.
dont make your eoty list before listening to this !!! - Irish math-pop group Enemies stream final album Valuables in full
This is so good.
This is so awesome. Play Fire and Leaves are instant highlights
Prob my favorite December release so far
this album is great anyone else have any thoughts?
yeah, this is great. love the poppy direction. some absolutely massive vocal hooks as well as the usual instrumental ones. glad they took risks with this.
last show the other day was pretty special. band means a lot to a lot of people.
Popping back in to say that I love this thing. It placed high in my 2016 EOTY list sort after only a few listens because I knew it would grow on me even more -- and it did. Very special album, not a single weak point. Gorgeous arrangements, shining brightly with the assistance of perfectly fitting production. It's so lush, clear and big sounding while still coming off as though the band is playing right in front of you. Obviously a shame we won't hear any more from them, but what a fantastic high to end on! Wish this had been talked about more around the site.
Just got my shipping notification for second pressing of this
Happily finding out that this feels just as right to listen to in the heat of summer as it does in the cold of winter. Blissed out real hard at the pool the other day to For Karla and Glow
Still adore this god damn record, sorry just gotta pop in every now and again to say it
I haven’t spent as much time with this album as I did their previous ones. Need to change that.
I've been blanking on that name for the past few minutes. Didn't they have an album that was promoted a lot on ap.net a decade ago? It sounds so familiar all of a sudden.
They may have! You may be thinking of Embark, Embrace from 2013, since I think that was their first Topshelf release. I didn’t become familiar with them until early 2016 when they were openers on a Weatherbox & Prawn tour haha, late to the game
I've stumbled upon their discog page and this album looks very familiar: Enemies (2) - We’ve Been Talking But I don't remember listening to it.
I think I'm mistaking them for another band also named Enemies lol
