It will never make sense to me how this dude gets a little less known with every record despite there being a reasonable argument he gets a little better with each*. At this point I truly like this album at LEAST as much as Pretty Years. It's also my favorite lyrics album in foorrreeevveerrr and I can't really explain why. Thank god for Joe.

It’s funny because that’s exactly how I feel about EC2! I liked the first one a lot, especially when it came out, but it just doesn’t have the same replay value of most of his other stuff for me, and I think the first song on there is so good that nothing else really lives up to it. Whereas EC2 is an absolute masterpiece to me. Some of my favorite lyrics in recent memory, consistently strong songwriting; just absolutely floors me every time.
Both are so good but the first one is just a little higher on wow moments for me. I get having Marian as the best but there’s so many standouts for me. Untitled and Swim are two of my favorite Joe songs ever.
