This was super mid all around but saved by Olivia Colman being incredible and Roger Deakins giving his A game. Seemed really dark though and like it might be a rough watch on TVs
yeah, and it was fine but in an actual theater. Streaming can't hold up (especially if it's on Hulu given searchlight, Hulu is much shittier for me) and have as much range in the darks
right. i get that. just seems weird to say the cinematographer gave "his A game" while also, apparently, not really giving it his A game in a crucial part of his job
this was ok. had a number of weird turning points but it's shot really well and the leads help immerse you. not sure if a rewatch would do more good or bad
I'm really happy with how pretty they made the place I grew up look considering Margate seafront can be pretty rough in actuallity! I remember watching X-Men 3 in the "Empire" cinema years ago and it's mad seeing it used as the focus for a major picture all these years later haha
