hope we get something this year but my hopes aren’t that high, even if it’s “planned”. I mean a lot of the songs off this were around for years too

 

I think that had more to do with taking time off to deal with cancer than just the writing / recording process taking a long time though, right? Before that, hadn’t he been putting out music at a pretty consistent and quick clip?

 

That said, yeah, I’m just approaching this as cautious optimism.

 

Says he’s hoping to release the new album in 2019.

I’m so incredibly excited to see a shouty/electronic Chad on the aus tour.

Western Teleport all day

 

western teleport and this one are must listens, the new one is far more accessible and an easier listen but if you want to see probably the best combination of his weirdness with his songwriting brilliant listen to western teleport.

also i'd almost suggest live videos first as well

 

His catalogue sort of unfolds to you. Western Teleport is top two albums of the decade for me. But the new one is also excellent, and his others records all have serious jams.

 

@Mary V are you going/went already???

 

The Melbourne show is next week! I'd love to go, but if I have to come home via public transport, I'll have to give it a miss :/ I just don't feel safe on the train alone at night. Hopefully I can work something out!
