i've been playing this truly non stop, the CD is in my car so literally whenever i get there if there's nothing i really want to play it comes on. infinitely replayable
It dips slightly for me in the 2nd half. Still fantastic, but I think the first half is much stronger.
You're both crazy the second half is just as strong as the first, though I think it'd suffer from initial listens for not being as direct/accessible/anthemic as the first half. It'll def grow on you
it's grown on me but i still think the songs in the first half are the best, haha. god save coastal dorset and the last two are definitely my bottom three on the record
Yr experience might be different bc you've been listening to him a lot longer but for me, everything I've heard of his has grown on me immensely to the point where (despite having favorites) it's really hard for me to call something my least favorite or anything. I really think time will level any disparity between those songs for everyone
oh yeah, i think calling something in this case my "least favorite" is sort of counterproductive, it's more that the other songs are my "most favorite" haha
This is basically where I'm at. the most notable thing for me is that this album avoids what happened to me on WT on my first few listens where I basically just wanted to listen to Erica Western teleport, allahu Akbar and Canada day on repeat til the rest of the songs fully revealed themselves to me
WXPN session airing at 10 tonight, based on past sessions on this show it looks like it'll be posted on bandcamp too
Finally listened to this, which I definitely should have done sooner. It's awesome. Bummed I missed the release show on Friday.
@cwhit who's the artist that does emperor x album art? I totally love the style and have been looking for a new phone background, but don't like/listen to emperor x enough so I'd feel weird having an album cover as my BG
