People mad that Ed Sheeren is on a track like Stan didn't have a fucking DIDO hook. Come on. Plus, Ed can kinda spit too. Don't know if anyone has heard him on Hoodie Allen's track.
Ed is featured on this because he used to have a terrible stutter and he learned to fix it by rapping to Eminem. Or so my Ed-obsessed girlfriend tells me. One thing I will never understand how lots of hip-hop artists overload their album with 79 minutes of material. Trim the fat, dudes!
Over the years there have been different reasons for this, currently the main reason is that mainstream rap is a streaming genre and as such more songs = more album equivalent units = good for billboard
Said the same thing in the news thread but yeah my hopes for the album plummeted after this tracklist, I was hoping it would be more lowkey and introspective and Beyonce would be one of, if not the only feature but it looks like he's going full pop again Also, Encore is by faaaaaaar his worst album. The entire middle third of that album is maybe the least I've ever enjoyed anything from an artist I loved at one point
Like Toy Soldiers. It's maybe a little cheesy these days but I like it, partly because of the bigger context it came out of.
If you cut tracks 8-14 of Encore it would be pretty close to some of his best material but those songs are just so unforgivably bad that it drags it down to the bottom of his discography for me Relapse may have the annoying accents and weird subject matter but his flow and technical ability on that album are still really good I think. Recovery is his second worst for me, but it's more boring than outright bad. There are some great standouts on there like No Love though I actually enjoy MMLP2 the most out of his post-TES albums but there are still a lot of weird choices on there that don't work at all
I don't understand how anyone can look at the track list and determine it's going to suck. His last few albums have had some really solid material in there
