It feels like a best of collection. Every time I listen I’m like, “Man this song is so good. Oh man THIS song is so good. Oh man THIIIS song is so good!” You get the picture. Haha.
Agreed. Like, there are songs on The Question that are all timers, but Shallow Seas is just so damn solid
As much as I enjoyed YWNA it does lack from Devin's writing. I just love the trade off in both vocals and writing. We got the vocals on the last album but with Devin fully back in the band and writing again, my expectations couldn't be higher. Can this rival ISSWS? No idea... but I'm expecting a magical release. If I want to listen to Emery I'll usually choose one of their first four releases - they're the distinctive style and sound in my mind. The last two have had good dimensions (and I know some claim YWNA is their best) but for me there was something not quite clicking.
Yes yes a million times yes! Shallow Seas is so amazing in every way! IMHO Emery hasn't made a bad album. I enjoy all of em. But if I'm choosing one to listen to right now, it's Shallow Seas or The Question.
The flow of We Do What We Want is all wrong. I don't know if that makes it a bad album but something about it doesn't work. At least it lived up to its name!
Emery - The Weaks End Vinyl LP White Tour Only Edition #16/50 | eBay I think this is a good deal, never seen it close to this low on discogs
The question $33 free shipping, clear vinyl. 7 left https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/152978907986
Playing you were never alone vinyl for the first time, I really like the alternate track listing. Think it flows way better
IMO, all they have to do on that album is remove Fix Me and add Crumbling in its place and that album is infinitely better.
interesting though the heavier songs seem to be on side B and the lighter songs on side A. I think it worked out nicely. I actually really enjoy the record in vinyl order. Always thought thrash felt too jarring at track 2
