The first two tracks are not as stripped back as I was expecting. Under Serious Attack is beautiful and exactly what I was looking for. An early highlight for me. In Shallow Seas We Sail and Taken For A Bath are great too.

Early impression is that for a 'reimagined' album there isn't necessarily a lot of imagination. Many of the songs do sound relatively similar to the originals (in terms of melodies etc) even if the music has emphasis in different places or they've switched out the screaming. I'm looking forward to hearing what others think over the next few weeks.

It's a nice album to have either way - I don't think I'd realised that it was going to be sold to the public though. I think I thought it was backer exclusive but I'm not complaining as it's an easy way for them to fund what they're doing and a lot of backers will be getting it for free.

 

I like this a lot. I think they are appropriately reimagined. I think I already prefer each of these to the originals, they seem to hit harder in all the right places. In Shallow Seas We Sail, Studying Politics, and So Cold I Could See My Breath are highlights for me so far.
