    I do not exist.

Nothing to do with the new album but I have to say that I was mightily impressed by this collaboration.

It blows my mind that we are still a week for this release to be 'officially' out.

Oh nice! Been hearing about this for over a year now, looking forward to giving it a listen. What's your take on it now that you've had some time with it?

I'm not really disappointed with it but I don't love it? I feel like the most I have to say about it is "it's another Emery album". Definitely liked Eve and especially YWNA more

I'm really enjoying it. I like the overall vibe although I agree with the above that it doesn't feel as memorable as other recent releases (particularly lyrically).

There are some beautiful songs here though - it's everything you'd expect from an Emery album I guess.

i’ve been meaning to tell you

I’m trying to decide if I should re-join Emeryland. It was cool to get the EPs early, and I used the extra discount to purchase a physical copy of the album, but other than that I don’t really use the perks. I like WLF, but it feels a little disconnected and stale since I’ve had some of these songs for a year now.

I'm in two minds as well. I haven't used much of anything else. I think the fact that we got the Palmetto EP and the Christmas EP meant it was almost worth the money in terms of quantity of songs received. I think hearing 7 of the songs before the whole release has impacted my connection with the new album.

Is the screaming here about the same on Eve?

    Yeah, I'd say there's a similar level.

I keep forgetting this exists. Will definitely listen to it when it drops. Last album had 0 staying power for me. I think I listened twice the whole way through...maybe only once.

The BNO collaboration was awesome. So many memories with that song. And Toby was in rare form.

I feel like there's not much middle ground with Eve. You either love it or don't care for it at all.

I, for one, loved it and still do.

I think the new one might actually have more staying power if people persevere for it and give it time.

  17. Samesies, but I made sure to not revisit any of the EPs songs too often because I feared the album wouldn't sound fresh. I wonder if that played a part.

I listened to the first EP quite a bit but tried to avoid the second one. Next year I'll probably try to be even more intentional with that. Maybe not even listen to the EPs at all and then have a whole bunch of songs at the end of the year.

Don’t forget that this is out today! For those who haven’t listened, what do you think?

Well. I just finished my first listen. It's an Emery album. There was no point where I was like, "that was really cool" or "Oo I like what's going on here" it was all... fine.

They fixed your brain when you were young.

I've been listening since The Weak's End and I think this might be my least favorite Emery record on first listen. There are some cool parts, but no stand out songs. And being a big lyrics guy, I didn't dig lyrics about them becoming a band much. That being said, still a solid record, because it's Emery doing Emery.

I haven’t found myself coming back to it much. As stated above, it’s an emery record. Usually that’s enough for me to keep revisiting but idk, the hooks aren’t as good or as plentiful, instrumentation isn’t as great as I expected. It’s not diluted, just feels like a lot of B sides maybe.

This pales in comparison with the previous 2 imho.

Will spend more time with it though.
