Idk. All redone vocals, added guitars and bass feels like quite a stretch from “recorded all in one take”

True, but I also wouldn’t say it was all re-recorded either, that’s all. I personally feel like they kept the energy from the live version but polished it so it holds up with their studio records.

They definitely haven’t redone it all, just a few parts. Devon’s discussed it on Discord in places. It’s definitely used the live as the foundation - they’re within their rights to market as such.

Another big difference is they brought in Jordan Valeriote (notably Silverstein) to mix the lp, rather than self mixing like the live version. That also took it to a new level. Rogue planet did a great job with the master as well!

Haha I get it. Like I said, I’m not mad about it. I’m glad they made those decisions so the album won’t suffer for the sake of keeping the one take thing pure. I am extremely excited for this album.

I knew he did several. I thought they were still with him cuz I knew they liked him, now that I think about it I remember they are with Sam now.

I guess if blink got away with calling TMTATS a “live album” because Travis didn’t re-record his drums, why can’t they ha?

The live album is their best album for so many years. Cannot wait to hear the polished version. It has the potential to be one of my top Emery releases I think.

Uh… Rub Some Dirt On It is easily Emery’s best work in a long time. This is fantastic and WAYYYYYYYYYY better than White Line Fever in every aspect but most of all production lol

I would say in the post-WDWWW era (aka when they went truly independent and Devin rejoined) it’s:

Rub Some Dirt >>> Eve >> You Were Never Alone > White Line Fever

I really enjoyed YWNA and Eve but White Line did nothing for me. I watched the live stream of this one once and was extremely impressed, but I’ve been holding out ever since for the studio release. Super stoked.

I enjoy about half of YWNA and that half I enjoy - I truly enjoy..

But the material on Dirt is so much better on every level IMO

So if I subscribe can I still download the new record or I can only stream? Their site says: "Join now to stream the pro mixes of our new album Rub Some Dirt On It which isn't out anywhere except in our community."

I think they are trying to emphasize the fact that people can stream it on the go, since a lot of people these days don't really know how to deal with local files lol. Also, love your reaction! I agree with it mostly. Although I LOVE YWNA, maybe my third favorite Emery record. The main issue with WLF is the master, which they said they will be getting remastered by Rogue Planet at some point and rereleasing it that way. The EP masters of those songs sound WAY better/brighter... something happened with the album mastered that boosted the low end and left the highs and mids completely shot.
