Is it true they basically retconned the whole "we'll release the live performance as the actual album" and redid most of the guitars and vocals in studio?

 

They released it in November to Youtube. They consider it a visual album but non-subscribers can still download the MP3s available to all via Discord. I have enjoyed listening to those.

They always said they’d release a final version to streaming. I think they’ve polished it up more than they gave the impression they would but I think it still fits the original vision and plan.

Yes, they are, they just haven’t announced when yet.

 

i guess my question is - are y'all aware if the version being released to streaming/public eventually is the same version currently available on the discord?

 

The live version MP3s are available to everyone on Discord now.

The version that will be on streaming is available to subscribers to Emeryland (now called Knucklebreakers). I haven’t got access to this but I’ve seen the discussions about it on the Discord.

 

Yea, the studio version that we (knucklebreackers) have, is the one that eventually will hit streaming. It’s going to be a while though as they are currently weighing some different options. The album is fantastic and sounds great.

Nothing was retconned, this was always the plan from day 1.

 

Is it vastly different?

 

Yes and no, in mix and production. Yes. Vocals completely redone, the intros and outros have been cleaned up a tonS. Acoustic guitars all replaced with mic’d acoustics not DI.

ha, i don't know why i won't just sign up for a month and download the record, i'm dying to hear it. i guess i just keep thinking it will be out soon on streaming.

Not new album related, but damn this song is so good in acustic as well. Teared up listening to it.

 

Rumour is the studio version of this album will be released on Tooth & Nail, hence the delay and the fact they’ve stopped promoting the live version from the end of last year.

 

6/24 is the date I believe should be announced soon

Back to initial confusion, T&N is promoting this as a one take album? Didn’t they scrap that when they heard how it sounded and redid it all for studio quality?

 

I feel like some technologically challenged boomer but I literally can’t find the record to download or any of their live sets they allow you to view on demand? I just see a store and that’s it?

Not true! Drums and guitars are from the live take: they added more guitars and retracked some bass. All vocals redone though.
