I love it, for some reason it looks more like an artwork from a noisy metal band than what we're used from them.
I’m not fond of it, just because I don’t like naked people on album art, but hey, it’s fine. It’s not gonna keep me from listening or anything.
I’m honestly not sure if this is a divisive and/or unpopular opinion or not, but You Were Never Alone is my favorite Emery record. High hopes for the new one.
On a similar note, YWNA might be one of my favorite albums with just terrible artwork. Another example is Damage by Jimmy Eat World.
I don't love the art work but I think it works for what they were going for. People paid to have their pictures on there so it makes sense anyway. I love the orange vinyl with it though.
I made my own cover for YWNA using the type from their kickstarter video and the band photo they were using at the time.
New Break it Down. Dave wrote a song on the new record and comes on the show to talk about it. They don’t premiere vocals, but the track sounds good. Apparently there are 15 tracks on the new record.
I'm always worried when I hear an album is that long. There aren't many good 15 song album that keep up the quality throughout the whole thing.
Okay good. There's only one band I trust to make a 15 track album. (Hint: they're putting one out October 5th)
Haha yeah Matt literally said that in the podcast... he wanted to shorten it to ten songs but they had so much good stuff he decided to leave it all in. I’m excited. They haven’t done too many transitions/interludes before.
I have only listened to two albums by these guys, but this was a lot better than I expected an Emery song to sound in 2018.
