I know he's been saying they were looking to change from the fox for a while now and why so it's ok but fuck, foxes are one of my favorite animals so that by default makes me a little sad lol
I've never seen a band bend over backwards so much to erase one jackass former singer without just straight up changing their name. It's bizarre.
It's so much easier than starting all over and having to waste time, stress and money gaining a new fanbase though. They aren't young teens fresh out of high school anymore, and have to make drastic decisions that make sense in order to survive financially. Plus, Jonny wasn't an original member, so it's not like he has anything to do with their name.
Also when said former lead singer still treats the current lead singer like trash and is just a waste of a human being all around....yea I think it's warranted
How does dropping half your albums and changing your branding logo almost 5 albums in make any more sense financially? Those 2 things are the reasons most bands DON'T change their names. As long as they are Emarosa they will always be associated with the former members of the band. How much that affects them is entirely their decision. So if the association is what's driving them to make these changes then just pull the rest of the bandaid off and stop being Emarosa. Block him and any one of his dipshits that try to start stuff on social media. Problem solved. JC is famously a sack of shit, who no one above the age of reason should ever take seriously so why Bradly lets him live in his head rent free is beyond me.
Of course they've both lost and gained a certain amount of fans as they stopped playing the pre-Versus stuff, and moved forward by diversifying their sound. Those who were angry at them for the former, I get it, but is it actually a big loss for the band? The Bradley-led albums got way more praise and positive attention than I remember the first few getting. The logo wasn't part of their brand at first, and only lasted three eras, which isn't a big deal when you think about it. I guess changing your image is going to confuse their fans for a little while, but eh, if pop fans are able to get over each of their favorite singers doing it every two years, Emarosa's ones can do it as well. I see them moving from the scene (at least sonically) with the upcoming record, if my prediction comes true, by fully embracing their pop and r&b influences, thus paving the way for a wider audience to check them out... so yeah I'm ready to bet they know what they're doing, and are making the right decisions. It's not that uncommon, I'm sure they'll be fine.
Bradley has now been in the band longer than Jonny was and he can call his band whatever the hell he wants
I have zero problem with them moving forward as a band and playing their old stuff less and less. That's what bands do as they grow. It's the way they go about it and their primary reasons behind it (which they put on full display) that are confounding to me. They cut off their nose to spite his face.
Yeah, I definitely don’t think it’s at all because of trying to spite Jonny Craig. Their sound has changed pretty substantially since those albums, and I think not wanting to associate with someone who, among MANY other things, has several credible accusations of sexual assault against them, is a smart move in every sense of the word. They played those old songs early in the reunion so old fans who missed the band during the hiatus could see them live, and in my opinion they’ve moved on in every sense of the word since then, are making better music now, and have no reason to stay attached to their past in any way. It sucks that Jonny is SUCH a continued liability, but he is, and honestly those old songs aren’t *so* amazing that they’re worth that continued connection.
Emarosa just wiped all their social media!! They did basically the same thing two years ago before the first 131 single and album announcement... we're almost there! (Also, the only retweet they left up is from October 15, 2016... one week from today is October 15, 2018.)
The work Emarosa has done with Bradley is lightyears stronger than anything they ever did with Craig. Anyways... new record announcement is probably soon YESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you guys believe that the new record will be out this year? Or more probably single this year, new album next year?
Unfortunately, Bradley has said on Instagram that it will be out early next year. I will just be stoked for a single/pre-order to drop before the year is over though!
Despite not being a fan of the cover/title at first glance- I’m still incredibly pumped to hear this.
