Call Me By Your Name prequel? Biopic about a frozen pizza magnate? But honestly good on this, doing aliens will let Pixar get real weird which I feel like they will do well at lol
i didn’t hate this but it definitely felt disjointed (which three credited directors might explain). has its moments but it’s also an example of what either pete docter or iger meant when he said pixar will move towards being broader or “more universal”. decent film that also really pushes the glory days further into the rearview
I got home from seeing Elio and I really enjoyed it but I was literally the only person at the screening which is surprising because it's a new Pixar original film and normally in the past on opening weekend it would be busy but sadly I was just the only person there and film twitter complaining about people not going to the cinema to watch original films that's not based on pre existing IP and an original film like Elio gets released.. I bet those same people didn't even bother to go
I’m a big Pixar fan and I didn’t end up seeing it. Everything I heard was that it was visually stunning, but kind of a B- story. I just didn’t feel particularly compelled to see it and I want to support original films.
temper expectations by at least a smidge. it's not terrible but it's also not a whole lot better than elemental, for instance
Saw this yesterday to a little over half-filled theater. Movie was decent but probably in a lower-tier Pixar ranking (which is still higher than most). My daughter's friend that came with said it reminded her of the Mario movie and I kind of get that comparison. Elio's friend Glordon was a great character, though
