Really wanted to get to the theater and see this to support Bo but unfortunately never got around to it. I'll 100% buy the Blu-Ray without even seeing the movie though, that's how much I trust him lol

this is probably the most real movie I’ve seen in recent memory, maybe ever
I’ve never heard more realistic teen dialogue

I was lucky enough to catch a screening of this where Bo did a Q&A afterwards. It put an already incredible theater experience over the top.

Was he hilarious during this, or in serious filmmaker mode?

Both. He was more in serious/heartfelt mode but made the crowd laugh out loud multiple times.

As someone who has very little experience with comedy clubs, what exactly makes them so “masculine”? When I think comedy club I think nebbish misfits / alcoholics who were mostly losers their whole lives, a pretty far cry from any stereotypical machismo

As someone who has spent an unfortunate amount of time in comedy clubs (my ex was trying real hard to be a comedian)... they are pretty much the most toxic places. I eventually refused to go to his shows because I was sick of slogging through it and being picked on by his "colleagues."

That doesn’t really answer my question

Could you elaborate? Like what do you mean by “slogging through it,” and picked on how?

Dude, stop. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that comedy clubs (which are mostly male-centric) are havens of toxic masculinity where misogyny is tolerated because if you disagree or take a stand against it, you're either too sensitive or "Can't take a joke."

She doesn't have to re-live those days to make a point to you.

Lmao I asked her a question and she can respond if she wants. I wasn’t talking to you, so if you could, please put that sword down and back the fuck off.

“Re-live those days to make a point” lol yes I’m sure asking “could you elaborate” was SUPER triggering for her. She definitely only posted anything to begin with because she felt so pressured by my demanding presence

almost all the comedians are men and when they do have a female comic they're really weird about it, like I know she's a lady but trust us she can tell jokes

also a lot of the dude comics do like hacky jokes about how their wives are annoying nags

Me? I asked her a question and you come in as if she’s a hurt lamb who needs defending. It’s completey demeaning to her, as if she can’t say anything herself if she felt like she wanted or needed to do so. Please butt out, it has nothing to do with you.
