Finally watched this today and it fully lived up to the hype for me. Really funny and also incredibly hard to watch at certain points. I'm a guy but it was really relatable too, and in ways that I've never seen in a movie or show before. I'm a few years younger than Bo though so that makes sense I'm seriously so happy for Bo. He's grown so much and I can't wait to see what he does next. (hoping for a new special) Would love to see him at the Oscars too
Watched this over the weekend, loved it of course. The scene in the backseat of the that car was so raw and gripping to watch, I kept looking away from the screen from just the dialogue. Great job Bo.
yeah a new special post-Eighth Grade is going to be very different from his previous ones. I hope he doesn't stop writing stuff.
Watched this basically the second it hit prime today, and it was even better the second time. Some parts are still so unbelievably gut wrenching and the end scene with Gabe it still the cutest thing ever.
I just watched this one when I saw that it was on prime. I didn’t really know what to expect but I loved it. I also wasnt expecting to cry so much... but here we are.
A24 once again put out three of the best movies of last year and was rewarded with just one nom. oscars is bs.
We talking Hereditary, First Reformed, and Eighth Grade yes? Because Toni Colette, Ethan Hawke, and Bo Burnham’s snubs are the reasons I have no interest in the Oscars this year. Elsie Fisher deserved a nom herself although at least the Globes recognized her.
How hard did A24 push their movies though? Boots Riley's twitter thread earlier was very interesting in that he pointed out just how strongly campaigning plays a roll in even securing a nomination,.
