There was that golden period where we didn’t really have any trolls, which was so nice coming off of AP. We got some now but I am very happy this site has never hit anywhere near the lows of AP (at least in my experience). Bless Chorus.
I remember reading the post 8 years ago and thinking absolutepunk was dead and it must be an April Fools joke. Glad we're all still here and kicking. Like others have said, this website has been an integral part of my life and introduced me to so many of my now favorite artists. Thanks
still the first website i check every day for the last 15 years. got my absolutepunk pin on my work lanyard! thank you for everything, jason!!!!!
i spend more time lurking, but as it was with ap.net, i always check up on chorus when i get on my laptop. it's a daily routine. thanks for all of this.
Man, I’ve been here for so long. I remember discovering Absolutepunk because of a emo game that was on the site if I can recall this correctly or maybe it was a link. It had Chris Carrabba and I want to say Oberst or Connelly. Now I miss that game talking about it! Anyways, it brought me back to this site so much that it became a daily repetition. I’ve always been a lurker for the most part since those days but this has been my most visited website for my life. So thank you for that! Cheers man and keep it up!
Oh, you mean Emogame! I seem to have completely blocked that out of my memory. Off the top of my head, I only found videos on YouTube. I'm sure it's still hidden somewhere in the depths of the internet. I'd also love to play it again. Great times.
I guess I've been here since the transition date too since I just got my trophy. Congrats on the achievement! AP/Chorus have been a part of my life for about half of it now it seems.
Been around since the absolutepunk days! maybe 05?? and been here ever since. I've found out about SO much music and it really helped shaped a big part of who I am. Thanks for keeping things running Jason! It's the first site I check on Thursday evenings/Friday mornings to post in the Albums In Stores forum discussion and it's just a weekly ritual at this point. I also really enjoy reading your weekly Linear Notes email. For some reason, it reminds me so much of the zines that people used to send through AOL email & it's cool to see a personal side of who runs the site. I purchased an absolutepunk tank to wear to this year's When We Were Young. Hope there's more years ahead!
I was at Bernie Sanders rally the day I got to the email that AP.net was no longer a thing. Crazy to think of all the shit that has happened since
