Eidola - The Architect (2021) Album

One of my personal favorite bands is now the newest signing to Rise Records. This band combines progressive, engrossing compositions with Andrew Wells' passionate vocals and intricate conceptual lyricism. Their lineup now also includes Sergio Medina (Stolas, Sianvar) on lead guitar.

Extremely in and I'm only 30 seconds into the song. Immediate comparison to add to the ones already mentioned is Closure in Moscow with those funky lead guitar tones.

I'm all about these lyrics, the thing that drew me to Thrice was this more abstract approach to christian faith and I'm picking up some of that here and that just has me so unbelievably stoked

 

Nah, they broke up a couple years back sadly. Sianvar now as well.

 

Album is absolutely incredible, y’all are in for a treat. They’ve had this thing done for quite a while, it got delayed first due to the pandemic and then again due to Rise buying Blue Swan Records. I’m so glad they’re finally getting to roll it out.

Any recs on which of their old LPs to start with?

Dude's vocals on the last DGD caught my attention and this is quality. I suppose I can hold my nose with the lyrics/themes and dive into their discog...

 

Love that the guitarist from Stolas is on this. He absolutely killed it when I saw them live a few years ago.

 

I'd say start with their second album Degeneraterra. Their lyrics and themes really aren't preachy at all if that's what you're worried about.

 

This isn’t hitting for me as a single but I know they are an album band for me.

 

Yeah not listening to any of the singles cuz I know the whole album will slap regardless
