Ari is coming to Chicago for a Q&A showing and of course I have plans I can’t get out of. Fuuuuuuuuuu

 

Took next Friday off and am seeing this at 11am!

 

I reckon I will catch this Thursday of Friday after work. Between this and the new Alex G, it sounds like a great weekend

 

i have a free AAA24 ticket, but i think we were planning on doing something else on opening weekend (belated joint birthday celebration for me and my partner)

 

Had no idea this started tomorrow!

I'm in an IRL logic puzzle because I was planning on taking an Uber directly from work to the movie, but I work from home tomorrow, so I need to bring my laptop and some smaller things with me and I'm not sure how to get the bag home/if they'll let me take it into the theater lol.

 

I don't think they will care what you bring in lol

 

The teenagers at the theater are pretty lax these days

 

Unfortunately, my work bag is definitely a bit bigger than the policy allows. I was able to find a smaller tote at work, so I'm gonna throw my laptop, charger, notebook, headphones, and meds in there and see how it looks. Probably give them a call and just see if someone can give me the go-ahead before I grab my ticket on the app.

 

At least at an AMC I’m pretty sure you can get away with practically anything.

 

I can’t explain it, but this dilemma somehow feels appropriate for this movie.

 

Yeah calling them may be your best bet then

 

I rode freight trains and was homeless for over a decade and used to bring my traveling pack that weighed around 50 pounds into movie theaters all the time and never got hassled. You should be fine

 

Just ask them where the best place is in the theater to film the screen.

Gonna wait to see what people in here think about it. Still on the fence about seeing because I'm seeing "I Know What You Did Last Summer" tonight because I want to see something dumb and don't know if I'm really down for a 2.5 hour movie centering about the pandemic.

 

Ari Aster is 3/3 for me so far so i'm pretty down to watch him throw a grenade at the pandemic
