That’s definitely true, but I do think this has gotten less exposure though. I never hear any of the singles from this being played, whereas Shape of You (and also some of the songs on the collabs album) were inescapable
He currently has two songs in the Top 10, Bad Habits has been in the Top 10 for EIGHTEEN WEEKS with no signs of slowing down, it's literally inescapable.
I also don't know if it's fair to compare really anything Ed will do commercially from here on out to Shape of You. It's literally the most streamed song on Spotify by a pretty decent margin. I'm sure Ed's fine settling with "mostly inescapable" instead of "completely inescapable"
Yeah I mean maybe that was the wrong word to choose. I was just agreeing with the other post saying this record isn’t doing Divide-level numbers (which is why I’m comparing to Shape of You). I’m not disagreeing that this is an enormous album, but if the comparison we’re making is to Divide, then I think it’s fair to say this isn’t touching THAT level of ubiquity, even accounting for differences in record sales due to streaming vs. physical. I’m sure he’s quite happy with how it’s doing regardless.
