Got free tix for tomorrow's show, decent spot. Excited for it. Wife wasn't sure who he was... then I started playing all his songs and she knew the words.

I don't want to be rude to the Sher-dawg, but I think this is easily his worst album

 

It's unfortunate he killed the original version of this album for what this ended up being. It's not bad it's just... So inoffensive it's almost offensive

 

For an album that's apparently so important to him, with such life changing events, he really says absolutely nothing here.

 

His whole thing is being this exact version of safe and for everyone. Does it as well here as anywhere else.

 

Nah, it's worse here because it's not catchy anymore.

 

I saw some rumors that the original (minus) tracks are on this. Who knows...

 

That would be cool. Was a bit letdown by subtract expecting it to be the acoustic album

 

I read an interview where he said we would hear the original version of Subtract at some point, but the press release for this album seems to suggest it was written after Subtract so I don't think that's what we're getting this time around

 

New album called autumn variations out September 29th

 

Kinda expecting more of the same from the last album with Dessner at the helm, but hoping for more

 

I loved Subtract, sad to see all the dislike for it in here. It's definitely a departure but I am very partial to his early stuff, so I love the lo-fi Sheeran. I was lucky enough to see him open for himself in D.C. this summer and play a handful of Subtract songs and it was awesome. Really excited to see where he goes with this one--I have very high hopes for it!

New album with J Balvin next year

J Balvin and Ed Sheeran set to drop joint album next year

 

I feel like he is doing his version of Taylor releasing as much as she wants all the time, but I just don't feel like that's his bread and butter haha

 

On first listen I like this more than the vast majority of Subtract

 

Four tracks into this and it's easily better than subtract already. Still not THAT great, but better melodies and song structures here for sure.

 

The further I get into this album, the less interested I get

 

I don't fully understand but I guess he performed the album in his fans living rooms? I don't know.... but here they are
