Ed Sheeran - = (October 29, 2021) Album

New album, or album, out this year

 

I don't feel like this song translates well to a live setting at all. Maybe he just needs to take a different approach, but I think this sounds pretty bad.

 

I actually prefer that to the studio track by a wide margin. It sounds way more original, and my main problem with the version he released is that it feels to me like him chasing a sound that was popular 5 years ago

Edit: I would actually go so far as to say I kind of dislike what he released, but I would have liked it a lot if it sounded more like that (i.e. Ed Sheeran with a full band)

 

I'm looking forward to the second album of the pair, which I assume is Subtract. I'm ready for Ed Sheeran's own Nebraska.

 

I'm a fan of Ed also but... I'm not sure I'd compare him to Springsteen personally

he does "so much" because it very obviously works for the general public. Dude has consistent mega-hits, seems pretty short-sighted to try and be a keyboard warrior to tell him he's doing something wrong

despite not liking "Bad Habits," I definitely get it now.... I think I have heard it... twice or three times total, but after just seeing the words "Bad Habits" the chorus immediately got stuck in my head

 

new song's pretty nice. Apparently this isn't the next official single, just a buzz single or whatever. Sept 10 is the next official single

 

More excited about the fact that this probably means a Springsteen-influenced lo-fi Subtract could still be coming

 

The debut Maisie Peters record, which was released by Ed on his label, is very good and I highly recommend listening.

I've only listened once so far and liked everything I heard, but once I listen more I can recommend some favorites. The whole thing is only like 40 minutes so it's not a long listen.
