Ready for the Joyce Manor of rap

 

I am 100% down for these song lengths

 

I mean, so many good rap albums are comprised of extended single-verse kinda things and after the succinct nature of I don’t like shit this seems like a natural progression? Dudes a master of his craft, and if he doesn’t feel the need to take up over a half hour of my time, I trust him

 

IDLS very much felt like a deep dive into his psyche during a tough period, from the murky production to Earl’s almost disinterested delivery. This seems to be doubling down on that while also pushing it further into the abstract/experimental realm. I’m very excited and curious.

 

I feel like Tierra Whack has been a huge influence this year.

This is the earl album I always wanted. He’s on his DOOM shit with this production

Hype

 

This is actually more melodic than the singles lead me to believe it would be. It’s basically the album I expected him to make, but feels more accessible than something like this should be. Big fan after one listen.

 

Has he or someone else used this or a sample in it before? It sounds super familiar.

 

This is great, and the perfect length.

 

the beat was in the initial teaser. Also I think the melody was used in solace

 

listening and reading the interview.

this is what I’ve wanted from him too. production on the whole thing is killer but Ontheway! is incredible.
