So far this conference is what I expected more or less. The only games that have me excited so far are The Evil Within 2 and Dishonored Death of the Outsider. Something about Assassin's Creed Origins just isn't grabbing my attention, but maybe I need to see more of it. I'll echo everyone else's statements though, Sony and Ubisoft really need to deliver.

Because it's funny to think about what the reaction to such an announcement would be. Also kind of just laughing about the memory of announcing a Kickstarter on stage at an E3 press conference, one of the few missteps Sony has made over the last few years.

It would be smart of them to come out with the Spider-Man game this year, especially with the movie coming out.

It would be but I'd rather they not rush it. We've still only seen one trailer for it so I'm not sure how far along it is.

Shenmue 3 announcement was probably one of the greatest moments in E3 history. But sadly the HD remasters are up to SEGA and not Sony.

I don't think Shenmue 3 was a mistep at all, that was a great E3 announcement. That in the same conference as FFVII Remake and The Last Guardian was huge.

My SO's a huge Sony fangirl so I'm watching. Is there any news on what Sony's scope is?

Like Bethesda and Nintendo seem to focus on games releasing this year.

Just a huge fan of announcing release dates in general.

Sony for the past two years like to show lots of games, some stuff coming this year along with some big reveals of games that are likely very far off. My favourite way to do a conference, ha.

I'm only going to watch Sony's in hopes of a new Tomb Raider.

    Gotcha. That sounds reasonable.

Not sure if it's the minority, I prefer it that stuff are announced within the year of their release because I can't handle waiting that long and I'm always worried they'll get canned. Haha.

The only thing I like about Bethesda's, is they seem to only announce games that are coming this year. I remember Fallout 4 was announced in June, out in November.

Announcing Shenmue 3 was not a misstep. Announcing a Kickstarter for Shenmue 3 on stage at a platform holder's press conference is a bad look because it implies they're asking for money after securing a partnership of some kind even if it isn't true. It's just bad PR when many people are already wary of crowdfunding games anyway.

I love announcing shit that's far off although I don't always love waiting for them. It definitely sucks when they end up getting cancelled though like Scalebound.

I think most of my favourite E3 moments though are reveals for games with no release date.

I'm sure destroying the Kickstarter record for most funded game helped ease that situation. Didn't take that long either.

Didn't get to see much coverage yesterday, but the new AC didn't really impress me. More of the same which is fine, I'm sure I'll get it but I wasn't dying to play it after watching it.

Idk, maybe I just missed it but I didn't see much of that anywhere. I thought they were very clear about what it was and most people were just happy about it, especially the fans. I think it was a great move for Sony because they got a better press conference and, to me at least, came off very well for helping the kick-starter get so much attention.

I've gotta give it to Microsoft, they really impressed me. I went in expecting to walk out with nothing but a new Halo to buy, and have spent the better part of my morning revisiting some of the reveals and watching the list grow.

Super interested in/likely day one purchase:
    PUBG
    Anthem
Dragon Ball (on PS4 tho, but still)
    Ori 2
Assassin's Creed (and I have never played one before. will prob get on PS4)
    Black Desert
    Cuphead
    Super Lucky's Tale
    Ashen
    Code Vein

    And I'm also interested in:
    Sea of Thieves
    Darwin Project

There's been some good stuff so far this E3. Sure, EA was kind of a bad way to start (totally into A Way Out though) but Microsoft and Bethesda both had things I was interested in even if I still think it was silly for Bethesda to hold their own conference. Right now, off the top of my head, my list is something like this:

    Dragonball Fighters
    Metro
    Cuphead
    Ori 2
    Dishonored
    Wolfenstein 2
    Code Vein
    Tacoma
    Life is Strange prequel
    AC:O
    Mordor

Some other indie titles I don't remember the name of/specifics.

Crackdown 3 seems fine but after seeing some of the other gameplay videos of it, I'm just not really feeling super excited about it yet. It should turn out better than Crackdown 2 at least...I hope. Sea of Thieves was also kind of a mixed bag from that demo but there's potential there.

Excited for Sony tonight, they always bring it with a large variety and quantity of games. Particularly curious to see further stuff on God of War and Spidey. Not really getting my hopes up for a ton from Nintendo, just would like a Stardew Valley Switch date, Mario Odyssey and VC info.

    My thoughts on EA's conference:

Story modes in sports games are cool. All these games have become too deep for me though.

Need For Speed looks really good. The Burnout vibes are really doing it for me. I really want that game to be good and I have high hopes.

A Way Out has a cool style and could be great. If it's good it might be my Christmas break co-op game.

Anthem definitely looks it is inspired by... some other current franchises. I'll probably have more to say after Microsoft's conference. Bioware makes great games.

I love Battlefield. Fuck their season pass model.

Why can't they just make more NBA Jam? You know, the EA basketball games that are actually really fucking good? Maybe that "Streets" part of the game will be cool, but I doubt it because it's still NBA Live.

Battlefront looks cool. I'm not a huge fan of FPS campaigns and I'm more into Battlefield than Battlefront when it comes to multiplayer (though they seem to be improving it - the prequel maps look so pretty and the flying looks great) but this story mode might still do it for me because it's fucking Star Wars and it's beautiful. I'll probably wait for a sale though because I'll be playing Destiny 2 in the fall. I'm happy EA finally seems to understand that selling multiplayer maps is bad for their games because it's hurting Battlefield. Some more thoughts: 1. The Force Is Strong With Play Station" is the worst co-marketing slogan ever, haha. 2. If you don't love John Boyega we can't be friends. 3. Janina Gavankar is cool as fuck. She also shows that professionals are better on a stage than influencers. 4. I wish NBA VS Star Wars was a game.

The pacing of the conference was horrible. There was way too much multiplayer gameplay footage. They should really show that stuff in a separate stream or whatever. Also, no more "influencers" please. That stuff is so bad. Awkward developers and CEOs are bad enough but at least those guys make and release the games.

    On Microsoft's conference:

Phil Spencer has said months ago that the Xbox One X is a premium product and that the large majority of consoles they will sell will be Xbox One S models (which are now the base models). I therefore think a lot of media opinions on the price are kind of unfair or at least misguided. That being said, I probably won't get one at launch (unless my family gets me one for Christmas) because 500$ is a lot and I want to know if developers actually make use of it, especially with regards to a stable 1080/60. The tech in this thing is pretty damn impressive though so Microsoft at least put down a great foundation. It will likely be the "best" console for 3rd party games simply because of raw power. I think the name is bad.

Forza is Forza. It's amazing but I personally don't need more than one per generation.

Metro looks very intense and the graphics are crazy. It'll probably a great game but too spooky for me.

I'm hyped for AC. Turning the game into more of an RPG makes sense given the setting. It's looks great. Third party games like that could convince me to get a Xbox One X just for the improved graphics I guess, but we'll see.

PUBG as an exclusive is a big deal of course. I kind of saw that coming. Can't wait.

Deep Rock looks fun. Astroneer with guns.

State Of Decay was a great survival game with some unfortunate jank. The second one will be even better I'm sure because it'll be more polished. It's the only Zombie game I still want to play.

The Darwin Project is one more of those games I guess. No more eSports and "live commentary" on stage please. Please.

I have never played Minecraft and I'm not sure I ever will. It's fascinating though.

No thoughts on Dragon Ball, haha.

Black Desert is a cool MMORPG. That's an interesting console exclusive for Microsoft.

Holy shit The Last Night looks amazing. Can't believe how beautiful it is.

The Artful Escape looks cool and pretty too. I like that it reminds me of Broken Age.

    Fuck yeah Code Vein.

Sea of Thieves has a cool look. I think this game will either be amazing or pretty bad. I wonder how ambitious it'll actually be. I'm not as hyped as some other people but I also don't really like pirates. It's a really unique exclusive first party game though so that's cool.

Tacoma looks way better than it once did. I'm glad they took their time (got time by Microsoft?) to start over.

I've always wanted to play Lucky's Tail. This one looks fun. I'm pretty picky though when it comes to platformers.

Cup Head is so fucking cool. I hope it plays well. Thank God it's finally coming out.

Crackdown 1 is one of the most fun games I ever played. 2 was a letdown. Crackdown 3 looks like dumb fun and it has been a while. Also: FUCK YEAH TERRY CREWS. I'm hyped as fuck. If this is significantly better on Xbox One X it might get me to buy one. I can see why some people aren't into this though.

Some cool stuff in that sizzle reel. Conan!

Ashen looks interesting. Kind of reminds me of Dark Souls x Brothers.

I love Life Is Strange so much.

Shadow Of War is a game I'll get when it's on sale and probably not finish. I can see why some really love it though. I'm already annoyed at the frequent combat to mini cutscene to combat transitions. I'm so over that. I hardly made it through The Witcher 3 DLC because of that after playing Zelda this year.

I'm sure Ori will be great.

Backwards Compatibility is fucking great. It's cool that the Xbox One X will improve OG Xbox and 360 games.

Anthem looks cool as fuck. I'm very excited for that. Could also be a selling point for the Xbox One X for me. I know people are saying this is a Destiny clone, but it might just be a Destiny killer. It really looks like it could set the bar very high for games like that. I'd still rather have Bioware make RPGs though I guess. Also, again, please no more fake multiplayer conversations. Please.

The conference was good and the pacing was also good. I do wish they had showed some big first party (or second party) game we did not see coming, but I guess they're not ready and Phil does not like showing games early (which I agree with I guess).

Random thought: if you have the budget and patience for a PC and you wanted a recommendation as to which platforms to buy, I'd say just get a PC and a Switch. I like consoles though and I travel a lot.

    On Bethesda:

I's be really pissed if I would go to a conference only to sit there and watch their version of a Nintendo Direct. Why make people sit in a room forever at that point? That whole thing was kind of a trainwreck in my opinion. I'm glad Dishonored is still alive. All of that Wolfenstein stuff was really cool too.

PUBG's premise is really interesting. I grew up watching Battle Royale so the idea of last man standing in that vein really appeals to me.
