Funhaus, so funny. I think GameInformer does all-day coverage too. Plus, not gonna lie, I don't hate Keighley and will watch him during E3. He gets good exclusives.
I like Keighley a lot because I used to watch him on Bonus Round all the time, ha. I'll probably check out his colosseum thing or whatever it is, ha.
I can't find the video atm but there was a video comparing Easy Allies and Giant Bomb's reactions to the Shenmue III announcement that was great.
Yeah to say the least Jeff's reaction to save shenmue was "fuck this". Not shitting on EA, just shows how different games coverage can be. (Also fully expecting Shenmue III to be bad)
Haha, I need to see that. I feel like that sums up why I love Easy Allies so much and why I don't really enjoy watching Giant Bomb. I love that there's that difference in coverage out there though so there's something for everyone. I'm not sure what to expect from Shenmue 3 since I've never played one of those games before but that was one of my favourite E3 moments of all time just for that reaction.
Giantbomb did a full play of Shenmue last year and good god it did not hold up at all, so many game design no nos. If Shenmue III is more of the same it'll flop for sure. Also in fairness to Jeff, I think the announcement itself was a bit skeevy praying on fan's nostalgia and telling them to save shenmue felt pretty exploitative to me. Also having a Kickstarter get stage time at Sony's press conference pretty much screamed disingenous KS campaign. Have there been any major announcements since about a game on KS? I'm struggling to think of one.
I thought it was great because it was a series a ton of people wanted to come back, they knew it was a big announcement which is why it made it in. Fans had been asking for it for a long time. I think there was maybe one more kick-starter announcement since then but it didn't go over as well. I think Shenmue was one of the few that could have worked.
What are people looking forward to from EA? After the last two years I have very low expectations but I still really want to see their Star Wars games. I hope we finally get some decent info on Amy Henigs.
Haha, I know. I was hoping somebody would catch me, as my post was being facetious as EA's press conference is likely going to be nothing but boring trash for 85% of it.
If Skate 4 is announced today I will send a cake to any one of you chosen at random. That's not a joke, I'd be that happy
I imagine EA's conference going like this, in no specific order: 1. 10 minutes of talk of how EA are doing so well financially. 2. 10 minutes of talk with executives saying that game developers are important. 3. 20 minutes of interviews with sports players. 4. 30 minutes of FIFA/MADDEN coverage. 5. 30 second behind the scenes video showing off Visercals game 6. 2 minutes of Titanfall 2 upcoming DLC content 7. 5 minutes of BF1 DLC videos 8. 10 minutes of Battlefront II 9. Biowares new IP reveal. 10. Having MLG PRO Quickscopers play Madden: "WOW, THIS GAME GUD!!!!!!" 11. Need for Speed 5 minutes (90% of the time Developers say "WE LISTENED TO YOU ALL!!!! NO ALWAYS ONLINE. SEE, EA ARE GUD!")
I'm curious about Bioware's new IP. That's all I care about from EA. I'm probably missing it live and I'm not too torn up about it.
