Ah ok, big fan of plenty in your collection though and since I treat my collection with the upmost care I was just concerned haha.
Guess I should show my entire collection since it has changed a fair bit since I last did but as evidenced by the last picture I have pretty much run out of space.
Here's my very cluttered shelf. This is everything I've got with me in Austin. There's a decent amount that didn't make the move back in Philly that'll come here eventually.
I went to a bunch of different stores to get this the day it came out, I always wished the cover looked better but I love this movie.
All my fellow moviegeeks/quality nerds: What’s everyone’s favorite Blu-ray presentation in terms of quality and sound that’s not an action film? Had I asked this without the last part, I feel 90-95% of the answers would be something like The Matrix or even Titanic (not typically action but very action-heavy during the second half). So my answer is Phantom Thread. I love the disc Universal put out on the Blu-ray format for starters, it feels like a Criterion title, but then you watch the actual film and I’m always blown away by the overall presentation and the video quality is so damn close to 4k it’s almost useless investing in the actual 4k disc (which I hear is also fantastic)
Phantom Thread is a good one, anything on Criterion has been top notch, also I love the way the 4K disc of Blade Runner 2049 looks and sounds.
This is everything I got this month, with The Fifth Element being in 4K and the Village of the Damned also coming with a poster.
Only thing I’ve got is a confirmation from Amazon that my Friday box set will arrive on or before October 15th
My September purchases. - 47 Ronin 4K, Best Buy exclusive steel book - Evil Dead 1 & 2 4K, Best Buy exclusive steel book - Pitch Black 4K from Arrow Video - The Raid 1 & 2 - Rob Zombie's Firefly Trilogy - Rocky Horror 45th anniversary, Best Buy exclusive steel book Book of Life and Geostorm were purchased for my wife, but thought I'd throw them in any way. The steel books were all fairly cheap which was awesome, especially for 2 of them being 4K. And that Rocky Horror disc has so many special features. Pretty good month. October through December look like they're going to break my bank.
Double post, but I forgot my anime purchases! - Ghost In The Shell 4K - Weathering With You, Best Buy steel book
Well, I am glad someone does but I was done with the series by the time I got to the one from the nineties.
Everything I got in October which with it being the Spooky Season meant my purchases were more leaning towards horror films.
Everything I got in November which was a substantially smaller month but no worse due to the high quality of the likes of Total Recall and Mothra.
I bought a bunch of stuff thanks to the Criterion sale in November and a bunch of random trips to Best Buy. Will be posting in bit.
I got the 4K remasters of the LOTR trilogy yesterday and the quality on the re-scan is truly stunning. The picture and HDR is incredible, and you can pause the film at many spots and it looks like a painting. Can’t wait to sit down and watch the extended editions, but it’s truly worth the money if you’re anything of a technical cinephile
Everything I got in December, which was surprisingly film-noir dominated. The rest is what was gifted to me for Christmas
Disney still releasing new movies on physical formats? Is March-April a likely window for the Soul blu?
