Just a few new purchases

 

Scored at the record store down the street.

 

Got a large package of films from Imprint

 

Umbrella Entertainment had a sale on, and I couldn't resist...

I’m excited to see what else Arrow puts out from Netflix. Flanagan mini-series? American Vandal? Mindhunter?

 

i assume this is a one-off thing, but i'd love some more Netflix stuff from if Criterion won't do it. give me Midnight Mass, the two KO sequels, His Three Daughters, etc.

Ohh shit this is gonna be a much purchase for me!!

 

Can't wait for that, it will sit nicely alongside all the other Hong Kong action films we are getting on 4K this year, much like this one that just arrived.

 

I don’t regret getting the Shout Woo releases but I think I’m gonna end up double dipping and grabbing all of the Arrow stuff too, I wasn’t vehemently against the artwork of Shout’s stuff but I do prefer the Arrow covers, and apparently the better subtitling would be nice

 

I know a lot of people don't care for the physical extras that the likes of Arrow Video put into their limited edition releases, but I will never not enjoy getting a new poster to put up and displaying some great new box art. Those physical extras are always worth paying that bit more for I find.

 

Some good stuff here, especially “Bowfinger.”

 

Chubby Rain in 4K is amazing

 

I love Them!, hopefully that comes to 4K over here in the UK at some point, along with The 'Burbs and Day of the Dead.

 

Supposedly Second Sight is doing a version of Day in 4K

 

Second Sight Day of the Dead would be sick given how awesome their Dawn release is.

 

Will there be an Arcane box set?

 

is there a direct need for one, seeing as that both seasons got individual releases? maybe it'd cut down on packaging, but idk how much of a priority it is

 

Depends on how much interest there is for it. Like Arrow doing ST is a no brainer, tons of copies are gonna get sold due to the popularity of the show. Arcane is bit more niche so you gotta factor in the limited audience. IMO it should have one because I imagine there's definitely people who'll buy and enjoy it, it'll come to whether or not an imprint will spend the money on less of a guarantee of ROI.

 

i'm glad it's getting a physical release at all tbh. stuff like spop are basically lost media

 

There are still plenty of other 1950s sci-fi films I want, but getting these four added to my collection is a great contribution.
