Not to give Amazon the slightest defense but steelbooks are notoriously flimsy as shit, I very rarely grab them and when I do, I usually try to do it through one of the boutique focuses outlets online
yo @irthesteve - as someone who's been into the Woo catalog for over half my life, I personally want to thank you and Shout for doing the actual lord's work. In high school my friends and I were nerds and looked for the killer and or hard boiled at blockbuster every weekend, it was like our mini film school. I got hooked, was able to find the USA box of better tomorrow 1 and 2 at a borders, and then found a site called HKFlix where I was able to get region 1 hard boiled that was passable. Eventually I was able too score the Dragon Dynasty blu discs - as well as the ps3 special edition of stranglehold which actually released before the dragon dynasty disc - but to see these movies get the love they really deserve and hopefully introduce a new generation to the work, that's just incredible. Already got my City on Fire, and my digital version of hard boiled on prime already was upgraded too, but reading the details on the physicals for both HB and the Trilogy? Just wow. For a company I already supported, didn't think I could become such a fan of a business. In short: hell yeah, can't wait to see what extras are with the Killer
This is extremely nice to read, and very heartwarming. I'm super happy that we've been able bring these to the US in a way that people are really excited for. While I am not personally involved in the series, I know that everyone who is has been working on this a LONG time and really do have a love for the films, we're a bunch of film nerds too and it's certainly paying off in this case haha
first vinegar syndrome order (from their non-horror sub-label) and the packaging on these are really nice
Coda looks like Apple is self-releasing a UHD and BD for CODA. between this, F1, and a number of the Warner/Fifth Season Apple shows getting physical copies, i'm imagining this opens the door for more Apple Originals to get discs as well (maybe even KOTFM?). update: apparently they're co-releasing this with Universal
As far as Criterion getting streaming titles, I am still really wanting Criterion to put Tick Tick Boom out on disc. Also for any JCVD fans like me MVD announced 2 new 4K discs of Lionheart and Knock Off!
They were pretty much told to go kick rocks by Apple when they attempted to acquire the rights so doubtful.
