I will be sure to post them in here! I always forget this thread exists, so I'll be sure to update with what I buy more regularly.

 

Went to Barnes & Noble. Apparently I was misinformed and the sale doesn't start till July 10th. Still picked up these two though.

 

Watched a few films from Akira Kurosawa for the first time this year so I'd be interested to know what you think of those two.

 

I finally subscribed to the Criterion Channel about a month ago and have been going through his films lately. The Hidden Fortress has slowly been becoming one of my favorite films of all time. I've revisited it a few times already. Kagemusha I'll be watching soon, it's one of his few that's not streaming so I'll be sure to let you know once I get through that one for sure.

The Channel is cool but that price for a sub is absurd lol

 

What? It’s like $100 a year if you aren’t one of the charter members.

 

I just couldn’t justify it considering the library available but one day I’ll come back

 

I think I only pay $10 a month, which isn't bad considering how much and the quality of content is available on there.

 

Recently, I’ve been rather annoyed at shopping for movies on Amazon. I have to make sure the movie is in the right region and so many third party sellers just price gouge

 

you can also pause your Channel subscription for up to 3 months and still keep your charter member rate.

 

All were on sale so what would have been around £150 ended up being £70.

 

I got the 6 disc Apocalypse Now 4K set for like 14.99, I love it.

 

Yet to see the Final Cut, so looking forward to that on 4K at some point.

 

I haven't watched the final cut yet either, just waiting to find 3 hours to sit down and watch it.

 

Two days to Criterion sale time!

 

Is this confirmed? I saw it on reddit but haven't seen it advertised anywhere else yet. It's a B&N sale right?

 

Yep, secondhand confirmation is usually all we get before they happen. This has been a particularly weird lead in to the sale, but as far as I can tell it will be going on as usual and starting Friday. I’ll post again once it’s love to confirm.

 

Nice. I've got a list of a bunch I want, and there's a Barnes and Noble near my work so I'll be heading in there and dropping way too much money.

Lost out on some things because I didn’t stay up until midnight and they were gone by morning, lol. Still got some good stuff and I’m hoping for a restock randomly to get the others. It feels so weird to not be able to do a store pickup or browse that way.

 

Managed to snag a copy of Police Story 1&2 at my local B&N before it sold out, gonna pick it up when I’m off work.
