It’s a blind buy for me. Never saw it over the years but I love Milos so I figured now is a better time than ever to see it.
@irthesteve major props to whoever at Shout! is working on/got the rights to Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. not a great movie, but one i have a good number of memories of watching with my dad when i was younger. curious to see how it looks with a new restoration.
Ordered/preordered Bottoms, A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, Anora, Love Lies Bleeding, Yellowjackets s1-2 ...in my defense, most of these were discounted.
That’s not correct. Scott thought it had been announced and Zach corrected him that he was wrong. Then Scott did a quick search and it turned out that he, indeed, didn’t actually read an announcement.
someone on the blu-ray.com forums mentioned they got to chatting with some Criterion employees - including their head of programming - while lining up to check out the mobile Criterion Closet at SXSW. per their head of programming, Apple and Amazon have reportedly given Criterion the cold shoulder and have no interest in working with them to release some of their newer streaming-exclusive films as physical copies in the US despite having worked together in the past (i.e. The Velvet Underground, Sound of Metal, One Night in Miami..., etc.). she specifically noted KOTFM and Nickel Boys as releases they want to do, but are being denied. it all sucks. edit: i guess World of Reel is also reporting on this too, although some speculate they're just regurgitating what Criterion shared with the blu-ray.com poster.
