On the Insta Live, he mentioned there's pedal steel on every song, and that he's drawing a lot from 50s and 60s country music. I'm so excited for this.

That song was pretty good. Pretty sure the second album isn’t gonna be topped for me, personally, but a fully formed country album from him? Very likely to get a ton of summer play!

Is he still part of that psycho church group? Either way, was just thinking about his solo stuff the other day. Sadly, no show around me.

 

Nope, he basically did a 180 and disowned all of that. Not sure what his current beliefs are but he's become much more progressive.

Read up on the high scalers at the Hoover Dam yesterday - interesting stuff! Feels like Dustin's had these songs up his sleeve for a while, by which I mean they just feel... comfortable. Excited to hear the full record.
