Yea that was great, and was it the same guy who asked to see his dick? Andy said he hadn't gotten that one before lol Also love the tangent he went on about charting...
Andy's banter was great when I saw them last Friday. Something to the effect of "this next song will be the real test of whether or not the drunk girl in the back is going to talk over every song" which was met with big cheers, haha. He also had multiple funny interactions with this one dude that admitted he'd been heckling him for like 10 years now. Can echo the sentiment that a lot of the crowd seemed younger and to not have any idea who Dustin was. Could tell he won a few of them over, though. Everyone played solo with just guitars. Dustin had a harmonica as well.
Those last few posts made me laugh and reminded me when I saw RAGC, it was a small venue and a lot of people kept talking and in the middle of a song, without hesitation he says: "Can you please just shut the fuck up?" and the crowd went nuts. It was great. I'm also pretty sure when I saw this tour in 2015, someone was heckling him and he called them out. It's always funny when he does it and always appreciated.
I just could never wrap my head around why someone would think it's totally cool to just be obnoxious and talk during...well any band's set, honestly. But even moreso an acoustic show, like, the fuck are you even here for?
Dustin sounded great last night (as usual) - Didn't stick around for Andy bc I had another show to go to, but it seemed like the crowd was mostly there for him. Think it was sold out actually.
Are you referring to Musica in 2012? I was at that show and the bar was being so loud and finally he just turned around mid-song and said 'shut the fuck up.' I remember his comments at Grog Shop in 15 as well. The great thing about his solo sets is, he is SOOO quiet. Barely uses the microphone (and even asks sound guys to turn them lower) and hardly strums his guitar so any background noise is magnified.
Man, I wish the Houston show wasn't sold out tonight. Me and my girlfriend were gonna come down from ATX.
Yeah, it was fantastic. He also plugged Sprained Ankle for her and said it was one of his favorite records last year.
