They've done this like 3 or 4 years in a row now, no? I saw this show when it came to Cleveland back in 2015. If you've never gotten the chance to see Andy live solo, please do. It's haunting how good he is. I've seen him twice solo (once as RAGC and once as Andy where he played everything between RAGC, MO and Bad Books).
To anyone that has been to one of the Dustin/Andy shows, do they play individual sets or do they do stuff together or both? If I'm only interested in seeing Dustin, when do I need to get there? Will he play last?
I went to a Dustin and Andy show back in 2015 and Andy opened and Dustin closed and neither joined each other. But again, that was two years ago, so maybe they collaborate at the end now or something.
In Macon: Gobotron (if he's still on the tour. I want to say he is but I'm not 100%) Dustin Andy No intermingling and Andy played 1 new song. Seems like there were slight differences in each of their sets from the first night but don't quote me on that. No real info on the new MO other than they just finished mastering before this run started. Doing photos and promo stuff out west soon (to paraphrase)
Andy played just now, played the new MO song it's called The Parts. Said the album was finished two weeks ago...
Has Andy been playing last on all of the dates? I don't know how the other tours they have done went but when I saw them in 2015, Dustin was last.
I posted in the MO thread a few weeks ago that my buddy's brother actually has the album. He works for Concord Music Label, who helps distribute their albums. Manchester Orchestra - Concord Music Group Anyway, my buddy's brother isn't even an MO fan, but messaged me a few weeks ago saying it's one of the top 10 records he's heard in the past year.
I was wondering the same thing. I'm going tonight, so we'll see, but looking at setlists, it looks like they switch off nights. I've seen some sets where Dustin plays 13 songs and others where he does 16. Andy has sets with 20 and 23 songs. Maybe Andy closes each night?!?! I dunno....
Andy didn't close last night, Dustin did. Also a good portion of the crowd left after Andy played, I thought that was kinda odd...
That was one of the worst crowds I've ever been a part of. It was dead. Maybe things would have gone differently if Hull closed, because a lot of the younger crowd left when he finished...I didn't get that. Andy telling the drunk guy in the front to shut the fuck up was amazing though.
Strange. I always thought of Thrice as being more popular than Manchester but maybe not. Or maybe just not in certain places... Anyways, I kinda hope Dustin plays first tonight because he's who I am going for and I'm trying to make it to another show as soon as Dustin is done. That being said, I want the longer set from him, so...
Looks like the venue has Andy listed as closing tonight. Says show starts at 8. Hoping DK doesn't go on before 9:30?!?!
